Dads Gift, Scarf and Hat

In 2017 I finished another gift. This one was for my dad, again the scarf is from my yarnbox subscribtion I use to have.

My dad chose these colors, he is a very ecentric kind of guy. I chose a new stitch and i really liked how it came out. I truly believe that I am starting to be able to fit the stitches with the yarn type.

I had a little bit of yarn left over so I thought of making him a hat to go with it. He worked late at night so i thought it would help him stay warm. For my first hat it came out pretty good.

The hat stich is the same as the scarf, I didnt do the “magic” circle type of hat. It is the one that you make a rectangle then stitch it together once you get the height that is needed. I liked how it came out hopefully dad does too. Yes I still havent given it to him because we just got home a week ago and I have had to get into my routine again.

Yarn Colors (approx 118 yds per skien):

Ginger Root, Golden Kiwi, Star Fruit & Celery

Husbands Scarf Memories

A couple of years ago I started on a new project. My husband has been wanting a new scarf so I had him pick out some yarn from my Yarnbox subscription stash. He quickly picked out a beautiful mixed color yarn.

This yarn is so soft and fluffy a part of me didn’t want to start it. Of course finally I unwound it and had to roll it into a ball. The yarn feels so soft every time I work on it I feel I might break it. It took me a couple of days to see which pattern I wanted to use.

Going to my trusty crochet book I looked for several days until I found the patterned I liked. Of course being that I am learning how to used this type of yarn and the pattern I picked I have had to unravel it several times until I was satisfied that I got it right.

I am using a stitch counter and writing the steps down in my writing journal. I am also timing myself…so I have had to delete those times and erased those numbers several times before I got it right.

I am noticing that you really can’t see the pattern details as much as I would like. I don’t know if it is because of the type of yarn and color; or I may have used the wrong needle for it. I know most yarns give recommendations and using this yarn I did follow them. The end result looks awesome to me.

Enjoy the pictures and here is the Link to the yarn review video and for the yarn details. Below are the pictures please let me know what you think.

First Infinity Scraf and YouTube review

A coupl of years ago, I started working on a personal gift for a family member. It wasn’t going on as well, It started to twist and looking back at the YouTube video that I got the pattern from I knew where I made my mistake. I wasn’t putting my stitches in the appropriate back stitches it needed to be in.

So I had to unravel it and start all over again. This time it was coming out just how I wanted it too.

Go to my YouTube channel Hook and Sew by Liza, to hear my review on the yarn that I used. Below I’ll put the details of the yarn and the company of the yarn used. So here are a few pictures of it finished. I didn’t try it on because it is a gift and I like for the wearer to be the first to try it. so I basically wrapped it around some hotel towels and went to the courtyard we have right outside.
I loved this experience and I can’t wait to do more. I’m actually thinking of including exotic luxury yarn products to my Etsy store. Of course it will be limited amounts and of course right now exclusively for babies and toddlers.
Let me know what you all think..

The red and grey you see is my jacket. I didn’t want to risk the scarf to snag on anything. It is the same color, but I am using my android phone so it seems like they are different colors but not.
